Duldzin Dragpa Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Epping is the principal Kadampa Buddhist Centre in East Herts and Essex. Established in 2008, its purpose is to give people the opportunity to practice meditation and Kadampa Buddhism. The centre offers weekly meditation classes, Foundation programme (FP), chanted meditation sessions (pujas), Prayers for World Peace and Precepts days which are suitable for everyone. The Resident Teacher at Duldzin Dragpa KBC is Ai Peng McBretney. She has studied and practised Kadampa Buddhism for many years under the guidance of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Through her experience of putting Buddha's advice into practice, she presents the teachings in a clear and practical way that inspires us to develop inner peace and wisdom.

The centre offers Foundation Programme (FP) which provides an opportunity to deepen our understanding and experience of Buddhism through a systematic study of texts written by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

pujas The chanted prayers at Duldzin Dragpa Centre, known as 'pujas', follow a range of Buddhist prayer booklets (Sadhanas) prepared by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and are available from the Centre's shop or Tharpa Publications. Everyone is welcome to attend all the pujas apart from the *Highest Yoga Tantra pujas, which are for Tantric practitioners only.

Engaging in pujas (especiallly Tsog pujas) is a special method of purifying negativity, accumulating merit and receiving blessings. It helps to develop and maintain a positive mind, and is a powerful preparation for meditation. Tsog pujas (highlighted below) are ceremonies that involve making offerings of food and drink to the Buddhas in conjunction with prayers and meditation. The schedue of pujas is given in the table below.

These chanted sessions (pujas) at the Centre are very beautiful prayers sung in English with great meaning and dedicated to the happiness and welfare of all living beings. The sessions are generally held on Sundays afternoons as indicated in schedule below. Everyone is welcome. Pujas with Tsog are highlighted.
