Kadampa Buddhism
is a Mahayana Buddhist tradition founded by the great Indian Buddhist master Atisha (AD 982-1054). The Kadampa tradition was later promoted by the renowned Tibetan scholar Je Tsongkhapa and his followers, who became known as the 'New Kadampas'. To this day New Kadampas around the world study Je Tsongkhapa's teachings and strive to emulate his pure example. |
Weekly meditation classes
The centre offers weekly Kadampa Buddhist meditation classes which include guided meditations, explanations of Buddha's teachings and questions & answers. They focus on how to apply meditation in day-to-day life. Classes are suitable for all levels of experience and are held in: Bishop Stortford, Chelmsford, Epping, Romford and Walthamstow. |
This special tradition of Mahayana Buddhism is particularly suited to this modern world and offers practical solutions to the problems we experience in our daily lives. Find out more in the booklet Modern Kadampa Buddhism [PDF]
